What GCSEs do you need to be a Firefighter
To become a firefighter, you will typically need GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), or equivalent, in English and maths. Many fire services recognise Functional Skills Level 2 as equivalent to GCSEs, but it’s advisable to confirm this with your local service.
